INGS is a quaint little village, complete with a beautiful church and the legendary Watermill Inn & Brewery. We are just 20 minutes from Junction 36 of the M6 and barely 2 miles from Windermere. Our situation being east of the lake, we are generally free of traffic congestion, even at weekends.
The National Cycle Network can be accessed from the bottom of our drive and the Central Lakes bus-route from Lancaster to Keswick (via Kendal, Staveley, Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere), passes our gateway, so don't forget to bring your bikes and/or bus-passes! Give your car a holiday as well: there are three excellent breweries and several cosy pubs serving local beers and tasty food, all within easy walking distance.
The Chief Kipper, Jonathan, is a keen traveller and veteran camper. If not staying in quirky B&B’s, he likes to camp in his car-top safari tent which was designed and manufactured in Cape Town South Africa, his country of birth. He maintains that having a tent on the roof of the car makes it harder for lions to eat you!
